Symphonia is a good starting point. I hated it at first because I went in reverse but eventually got addicted. Abyss is good for story. Have fun with back tracking. /v/ will tell you to skip Xillia 1 if you play 2 because most of them don't care about story and their reasoning is it has the exact same assets and locations and there's like an in game encyclopedia for everything. Play Graces only for combat because the story and characters are the worst.

The game never gives Mikleo or even Sorey for that matter, any real chance to sit down and let the moment sink in, which makes terrible because it stops the gamer from really being able to absorb what just happened.
The same thing happened about them finding out about Calmann, Sorey and Mikleo should have been allowed to show more emotion about what they just experienced, in more than just a skit. The only character who showed any real worry for them was Alisha when she heard about what happened.

In fairness, they kind of dealt with this earlier when they first got to Camlann. Sorey and Mikleo were born there, but it's not their home and they feel no real attachment to it. Mikleo intellectually knew Muse was his mother, but he didn't know her at all and never spent any time with her. Why would he give a shit about her dying?
I thought that was a refreshing change of pace from the usual "but my REAL family" narrative you get with adopted characters.
Also Edna definitely had character growth. She stopped being such a raging cunt and learned to accept that she couldn't save her brother.

That's the problem. I think Mikleo should've been written to have vague memories of his mother instead of being given away as an infant. It doesn't change much about Sorey/Mikleo's past either.
Or at the very least have Mikleo tell her who she is before she kills herself for seemingly no real reason.
And I hated how there wasn't even a SKIT about Sorey's and Mikleo's reactions to Camlann. It was lazy and it was awful.

A refereshing change of pace, was something like Gon admitting after finding his father that he ultimately just felt like an amazing relative. And not wanting to find out about his mother because she willingly and not under duress gave him up, and somebody else raised him.

Well yeah, that's kind of the point. Sorey pulled his "We'll find a way somehow" shounen hero bullshit to make her join, but in the end there was no magical deus ex machina to save the day. She had to accept that sometimes life sucks and sometimes your brother turns into a dragon and you have to kill him to bring him peace.

This scene actually exemplifies why I'm pissed off that you didn't keep Alisha and get Sergei as well. It makes sense for the both of them to join you, the Lord of Calamity is getting in the way of their own dreams of peace. Having that peace would mean less malevolence all around, therefore they join you and your cause, because their goals are related to your duty.
For Sorey they also give him more human companions to interact with, for the seraphim it's more humans for them to bounce off of. They could have even used to two of them to help Sorey and Mikleo further their own dream of humans and seraphim living together in harmony.
Reminder most shotas and lolis in the game ended up killed or with PTSD
Hope the anime won't change that, so far we are already at 1 loli killed.

I don't know about sharing powers with rose. Just as they've bullshited their way into making Rose on par with the shepherd in terms of fusing abilities just by saying she was near a seraph she didn't even know existed, they can make Alisha get powers because Sorey gave her some the same way he made her see Seraphim.
But yeah, probably won't happen though because that would require a lot of OC material trying to fit her in. As far as I'm concerned it'd better if the show hadn't followed the game except for the overall idea.

Well, Alisha fans can no longer say they didn't see her alot if they still choose to bench her. She's getting entire episodes to herself before the main protags come in.
Would it still be a bad idea? Yes. But I feel like no matter what they do with Alisha, reviews will be mixed or bad. If they try to force her in with some new seraph potential (she couldn't see Symonne in the beginning so I feel like this is gone), or if they bench her in a more fluid, excusable fashion.

That would take away Rose's uniqueness and piss off Baba. They won't do that. think of Alisha like Sakura, Taiga and those track and archery girls in UBW's or the other members of the God Eaters. She'll be here for about 3 or so more episodes then the plot will start and they'll toss her away because if she wasn't there in the game why bother putting her in the anime? It's sorta like the complete opposite of Persona 4 the golden anime where they shoehorned Marie into the concert, the snow trip, the beach trip and the final boss. As well as the Persona 3 movies where Aigis was shoehorned into several moments she wasn't apart of in the games. She's the only one besides Junpei who got her final persona in the movies, Even when they were fighting the final boss Trismagetsu,Messiah and Athena were the only evolved personas in the fight. This happens for better for worse for all game adaptions. such as in Neptunia P-KO and Pludia stole the entire screentime and in Blazblue Alter Memory Noel and Lambda had the only good scenes.
