I mean, seriously. The characters, the gameplay, the writing, even Junko got BIGGER. The cases in DR2 felt more complex and unlike DR1 I actually felt bad for the guilty characters, because either their motives were good, their circumstances made it far more justified or like in case of Chiaki, they literally did nothing wrong.
In DR2 you're actually THE main character, instead of being Baconhands' sidekick. Sure, Komaeda knew a lot, but he created a whole fucking mess in the first place (Chapters 1 & 5). In SDR2 you actually solve those murders with Nanami instead of being Kirigiri's bitchboy.
Meanwhile what do we get in DR1? Cunts. Not only that, dumb cunts. Leon's and Celes' trials were a fucking joke. Celes was acting so weird and tried to blame shit on a retarded stoner of all people? Are you fucking kidding me? And don't get me started on her retarded motive.

This is what really baffles me about Danganronpa. Leon and Ondo aside, Celes should've known better than to kill two nimrods while letting Kirigiri and her sidekick live, or even Togami for that matter. She really fucked up big time during that chapter.
As for SDR2, Teruteru tried to kill Komaeda, Peko's kill was personal and Gundam couldn't pull that off otherwise. As for Mikan, not sure if she just underestimated the students/couldn't care less if she died anyway cause it meant reuniting with Junko. I mean, sure, she needed Ibuki in her Despair Disease state to pull off the shit she's done but she could've come up with different plan that involved getting rid of someone actually smart.

Celes as an entire character is flawed. She's a Queen of Liars that everybody knows is a huge liar, which actually makes her a shit liar. The moment you heard the motive for case three was money, red flags should've gone off in your head for Celes.
I think a SHSL Gambler is a cool idea and Celes has an interesting backstory but they took the wrong approach in thinking they could fool anybody with her adaptability bullcrap. She should've been like Nagito, just a constant threat you have to be aware of, but also competent and a wild card.
