My biggest complaint with Parts 1 and 2 is that literally only the protagonist is useful. Everyone else is fucking useless. Zeppelis literally exist to lose their first fight and die in their second. Lisa Lisa is a Ripple Master that loses 10 seconds into her only fight. Stroheim gets cut in half as soon as he shows up, twice. Dire is a one trick pony who doesn't land his UNBLOCKABLE attack once. Straits and Tonpetty do NOTHING. Loggins and Messina both get their arms cut off and die. Speedwagon cries the whole time.
Part 3 and onward all the side protagonists get at least a couple fights to themselves where they actually win, and actually manage to contribute to fights frequently.
