Setting is the best part about Fate, yes, but there's a lot of great characters, battles and storylines.

The world building is quite spectacular, that is a truth. There is pages upon pages of details on characters and their abilities which makes it almost impossible not to feel the love poured into the setting. The characters are also where it shines, Shirou, in anything else would be grating and off putting, but within this setting where his motives are detailed into the extreme, some come out liking him. If you don't like Fate Shirou, UBW Shirou might click and if that doesn't than Heaven's Feel will. Gil is a terribly handsome jerk but his character is fun and for me it is really hard to even think of hating his magnificent being. I really do suggest checking it out if any of us here have made you just a bit more curious.
