So they can't just skip Lost Children. They can't just skip Black Swordsman. They have to mash the most random shit together from those arcs into a single episode, try and encapsulate 2 years of Guts wandering around suffering and killing into a single episode, and then go straight into Binding Chain, when Guts begins to seek redemption.
So basically cutting out an entire chunk of character development. We don't get to see him struggle with cutting himself off from people aside from 2 lines in this episode.
I'm not even going to touch the "animation". Nor the soundtrack, or the voice acting.
There is nothing good about this as an adaptation, and even just as a single episode without the context of the manga, it is schizophrenic, horrendously paced, and dull. I cannot believe we could sink lower than 2010 Golden Age Arc, but we've fucking done it.
