Am I the only one who just genuinely doesn't like Kuro's character, and thinks that she was just kinda shoved in there? Like Illya and Miyu became friends in season 1 even though they didn't like each other at first, but then learned to appreciate each others strengths yadda yadda.
Kuro just feels like she was shoehorned in as a "friend" after the plot of 2wei just went in circles for like 6 episodes, and then after a retarded amount of her just kissing everything they were like "welp I guess you're our best friend now" and she's just such a bland character that you don't even feel bad when the writers try to evoke sympathy and victimize her. When she and Miyu fought I was kinda hoping Miyu would just straight up ice her.
I've always found her presence to just be obnoxious. She instantly shoves herself into Illya and Miyu's group of friends and then does either nothing productive or just does something that causes drama, just to fuel her own fucking sociopathic agenda. This is why I feel that Season 1 remains the best of all so far. Herz wasn't necessarily bad, and I actually really welcomed the slice of life progression it had for a while. Hell, I'd inject gutter krokodil into my inner canthus just for a whole slice of life season of Illya, Miyu and friends doing normal schoolgirl shit (without Kuro there to cock it up) but with the occasional Rin and Lluvia induced magic sprinkled into it.
Talking about that, I really feel that Rin and Illya could have had a really nice and cute relationship, with Rin acting as something of an older sister to Illya (because Rin actually understands all that magic shit and can actually guide her somewhat). Rin and Lluvia have always just felt like underdeveloped characters. You can prant that "Rin got enuf shoetime durin Stay Night >:^(" but you and I both know that Stay Night was a fairly mediocre anime and Rin's character was just sabatoged by that shitty cuck of a protagonist.

I want to see like, genuine IllyaxMiyu feeling confession, like a real kiss, holding hands, etc. They hint at it so much and it genuinely upsets me. I'm already disappointing desu. My guess is that it's a deliberate plot on his part to torture viewers. He hinted at it throughout season 1 and a few 2wei episodes, especially with how protective Miyu was of Illya.

Original Illya teased at much, he jokes were innocent most of the time and she actually behaved like a kid despite being older. She was also sincere unlike Kuro and when she was distant from everyone she was more of prideful hollow girl than bloodthirsty.
She also played into a much more fragile behavior internally than Kuro ever has shown.
Kuro is no more Illya than Prisma Illya, none of them are Illya.

I kind of want to read the manga but at the same time I kinda want to save my experience for the anime. I'm kinda torn atm. But I know the basics of what happens and I know thatmiyu is away from everyone else for basically the whole time and nothing substantial will happen between Illya and Miyu relationship-wise, but I also know that nothing deconfirms it either, like usual.And I can accept that at the end of the day, they'll have nothing more than a close friendship with occasional yuri fanservice tendencies, if I have to.

I explicitly said "by anime". I really don't know how to explain WHY I like certain ones, but I disliked 2wei because it just went in circles and Kuro left me with a really awful first impression. I did really enjoy the slice of life in Herz, even though the second half did feel like it didn't fit (but I understand there are problems with making it fit into the mango). I didn't really like UBW that much because I thought Shirou was just a really bland character, with bland motives and a bland personality. I liked most everyone else in Stay Night, but the fact that Shirou was the main character and everyone else was kinda held down by him just ruined it completely for me.
Maybe my unbridled hatred for Shirou is a bit rash, but whatever.
I like Zero for a lot of reasons, one of them being the fact that Shirou isn't fuckin in it.

Then just be kind of annoyed that Prisma died of heat death rather than going out with a bang. Imo season 1 was the best and will probably just stay that way for the rest of forever in my mind. I like to pretend sometimes that it's the only season, and the anime just feels a million times better.
If we're talking all seasons as a whole I think Zero wins hands down.
