I don't really get the hype, personally.
Back when TTGL and Panty and Stocking were new, it was fun animation in a cool style (I know they're not Trigger, but it's a lot of the same crew so hear me out).
Then with KLK it wasn't awful but it was a lot of treading similar ground. Then Little Witch Academia came out and /a/ jizzed all over it, but aside from the impressive animation the story was by-the-book predictable and the characters were all really boring archetypes.
I think they're overrated as hell.
