I figured he'd end up doing something like this. Apparently he's still interested in doing animation every now and then but notoriously hates the conditions of the current Japanese anime industry and is unwilling to compromise with production committees on the level they ask of most of the industries people now. His style also doesn't mesh with what the current Japanese anime industry is looking for at all either. He also prefers to work in Live Action and with foreign market team ups since the mid 90's. I basically consider him entirely outside the regular rotation of the Japanese anime system and an international director at this point.
