Most shows start airing in under 24 hours and since I think this company is the best troll joke played on the industry and it's fans and that their shows pretty much always shit the bed as a rule but are among the most popular out there anyway I thought I'd play a game in anticipation of the upcoming Summer 2016 season where there's sure to be some butthurt and amusement to help the pain go away. The idea is to run some polls and see what certain things /a/ thinks will happen with their shows based on some trends I've noticed in their recent shows. I was thinking of maybe doing a Bingo and might still but for now it's this. I'm excluding ReLife because it's all out already on streaming and doesn't really fit the criteria and Thunderbolt Fantasy cause it's puppet theater.

Haifuri was around Bakuon level in terms of SoL, but it also had cool ship battles and its technical stuff was easier to follow compared to Bakuon's.

Really really REALLY aggressive marketing and benefits campaigns. With the amount of money that must have been spent on marketing and the huge merchandising set they had prepared for it that doesn't look like it's even close to flying off the shells and where it seems like it was planned to make the bulk of it's revenue it's generally assumed that it actually lost a fair amount of money since it already missed it's target first volume disc sales by anywhere between 85-90% depending on how much you value Girls und Panzer at by now with the re-releases and all. The TrySail music at least was their best selling album yet so there's that but yeah.

Their originals are pretty bad when they take themselves too seriously like in Kabaneri, but when they just try to make something fun it turns out well like in Haifuri. Their adaptations are also generally pretty good, so the hate is mostly overblown.

I personally don't like the way Aniplex keeps trying to ride the coattails of genuine hits without realizing what made them hits in the first place to the point that they'd employ staff that have recently had a show they've worked on sell in hopes of emulating its success. Too much shit is being thrown everywhere and honestly none of them are sticking.

Their adaptations are hit or miss really. For every Zetsuen no Tempest, FMA Brotherhood or Kara no Kyokai, you get a Nanoha Vivid, Ace Attorney or Gunslinger Stratos

In terms of production value, yes. Everything but the story was amazing. They just need to pick good source material and they're set. With Boku Dake they managed to make the source material watchable. You can't save Asterisk without going full anime original.
