Broadcast, because that's the way you're intended to get the best experience. Watching it chronological removes a big part of what Haruhi so special for the people who were lucky enough to see it as it was airing, and going against how the creators intended you to view it is just illogical. Also, if you really like the show, you can just go back and watch it chronological later, to just the same effect. Whereas, the effect of watching it broadcast only really works on your first viewing.

Around the time the latest volume was published one bookstore put that sign saying that a 3rd season was on the way. It was just one bookstore IIRC so it quickly died. It's a really old thing, around 2011 but maybe you'll find about it in ANN or searching a bit.
