Sometimes it works. The first Berserk anime had a fantastic English dub, and a lot of the voice actors reprised their roles for The Golden Age trilogy and The Black Swordsman.
That said, for every Berserk we have a ton of Princess TuTu's, DNA2, and other animes with absolute garbage dubbing

I honestly preferred the sub to the dub for Berserk. But yeah, in some cases I agree that it works like it did for Black Lagoon, Hellsing, or Bebop. Also, the dubs for Parasyte, Psycho-Pass, and anything from the 90's were great as well.

I disagree. I think we're experiencing an anime boom right now. Everyone I talk to, even people who if you looked at them wouldn't strike you as /a/non's, seem to really be into anime, even if its for nolstalgic reasons.
