Armin is always right, and it always follows the same pattern:

He's always thinking and always analyzing everything he sees. He trusts few people, and considers himself better than those around him.
Armin is smart, never makes mistakes, fights for his friends, and doesn't want anyone to die ever. He never does anything with his brain until an asspulls is needed. Despite all the times he's been betrayed he does nothing to prevent it, but for some reason instead of getting him killed, it makes the traitors like him. Furthermore, Armin is the source of most of the asspulls when the heroes are in what should be an unwinnable situation.
Every time he's in danger, a literal hand could descend from the clouds, passing Armin a note explaining exactly what they can do to survive their current situation, and it would subtract nothing from his character- that's how Mary Sue he is.

I kinda disagree with the idea, mostly because each of RBA all handled their trauma/actions in very different ways, even if each character's progression falls in line with the philosophy Isayama and his protagonists are challenging.
I actually wrote something on Bert (and Eren) a little while ago explaining why I thought they were good characters and why they complemented each other well. Bert's part is a bit long tho so I figured I might as well just copypasta the whole thing:
