I didn't watch the anime adaptation, maybe I should check it out.

Conversely, I haven't read the manga. Maybe I should do that. My major gripe was it felt like it lacked substance until the last episode or two. It's SoL/Comedy I know but they didn't really feel like they were doing anything. I stuck around because the characters were cute and the atmosphere was nice.

It's the same in source material, all the characters just play around.
But that's okay in my opinion, it's actually what I like about it.
