Dazai is the only character I like in the entire anime. Found him annoying in the beginning but I noticed whenever he was in a scene, it was enjoyable.
Rest of the characters suck, plot is laughable, Port Mafia is a joke and the tone sucks. Hands down has one of the worst mcs this year.
I think I'm just a sucker for literature so to have an anime that is /based/ around it is kind of neat.

The siblings were fun.
Story-wise it's nothing impressive.
But it showed me the extent of Bones' art quality. Now i get what the fuss is all about on this studio.
It can't decide what the fuck it is. If it was more like monogatari, stuck to the serious stuff with cynical humor, I would like it, but instead it does this weird mix of battle shounen and goofy comedy. At times it's endearing, but mostly I found it disappointing.

I can't really agree with the anime being better than the manga -- the anime is so horribly directed, and the music barely manages to match or capture the atmosphere of this series. Jazz or something similar would've done the job best, seeing as the series already has the whole mafia/detective thing going for it, but instead they went with... whatever it is they went with. and I could care less for the VAs, the only good one was the high school sister chick, I don't know why but I really love that VA's screech-like voice.
