I dunno, seems accurate. The most popular and well known superheroes do come and have come from the US, from the golden age of comics to now. Japan might have a lot of super powerful fictional characters, but most aren't super heroes, and characters like Kamen Rider or the Super Sentai aren't as well known around the world as characters like Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc.
