Rebuild has done great business at Japanese box office thus far. Its merchandise has sold really well too. And Toho seems to think Evangelion is still popular, they're using it and Anno's name to push Godzilla Resurgence.
yes, it's actually my favorite series, I can't stop rewatching it, i've seen it like 7 times by this point.
The writing/characters/plot are just really good, every time i watch it i find new things in the dialogue that i hadn't noticed before. The animation is really good.
Don't really know what more to say, I haven't really thought of it, but I just can't stop rewatching it, i guess that means it has to be somewhat good right?
Not at the moment but /a/ will go full hype mode again for Rebuild 1.0+3.0, even though we know it's going to be shit.

Now when i watch this series, i'm just thinking about what a bunch of crazy fans it has.
I liked it at first but it just got weirder and more stupid the further i got in and the last couple of episodes... Plus that End Of Evangelion sucked. Interesting ideas and environments but i actually never liked the characters that much.
I was honest to my friend about it and he flipped the fuck out on me (no joke). He litteraly shouted, swore and spat at me for not liking Evangelion as much as he wanted me to. He wanted me to watch it as a masterpiece, like there is nothing like this anime in the whole world. I actually like the Rebuilds more.
Someday if you start a new evangelion thread (and i have more time), i will try to write down my thoughts about the series.
