This is from Boku no Hero Academia Ch.79, the translator is a nice guy who writes some random translating stuff here and there and I always read since it's interesting/learning experience.

The context is a character with a "dark" sentient power who grew up and is out of control.
On his notes, he points that 奴には refers to "the thing" (the dark power), but reading the sentence, to me it seems it could refer to his friend (the one who has the power, struggling to control).
Something like:
to him // he couldn't control it?
If it was just 奴は it'd be simpler to say "he couldn't control", but does why does には change the subject to the "thing"?

Do you have trouble with part of a second language because you haven't learned it yet? Congrats! You don't know the language.
If you don't understand the spoken language's slang, then you cannot read the spoken language's slang transferred to text. If you have a problem with spoken speed, then you're just slow.
You cannot read something without being able to understand the spoken version of that. It's literally a fundamental requirement. You might need practice to get used to the sound system of the language, but that's it. The only exceptions are idiomatic logographic written languages like classical chinese, and non-spoken languages like programming languages and formal logic notation (math).
Someone who can't read but can hold conversations knows the language, they're just literate. What do you call someone who can read simple text but is literally incapable of understanding what people say? You say they don't know the language. They only know a small subset.

Just don't let it take away from reading practice. Listening might be important, but gaining ground in the structure and usage of the language from reading is just so easy that it's not even funny. The only horrible problem I could see is if you intentionally ignore word readings and don't expose yourself enough to them.

Just learn the mneomics. The kanji and the mneomic are the same thing. If you can remember the mneomic, you can remember the kanji. If you can't remember what it looks like then do production. With time you won't need the mneomics anymore.

Dear guide maintainer people,
Last week or something, one of you asked in the thread what to do about that qt-related comment on the resources page. I replied that I would be reinstalling my OS next week and planned on installing KDE (which uses qt) as my DE, at which time I would play around with things and update the instructions if necessary.
Well, about that... It's not happening. The reinstall turned out to be a disaster. I was so pre-occupied with making sure I had backed all my files up that I forgot to check that the USB installation media I created actually worked... and for whatever reason it didn't. And by the time I found that out, I had already formatted my hard drive. That was 2 days ago.
After suffering from severe internet withdrawal symptoms, I was just desperate to get my computer working again, so after managing to get hold of a working installation media I ended up just installing the DE I was familiar with instead since I know my way around it and could most likely solve any problems I might encounter.
I MIGHT, now that I have a working installation media, redo it in a few days and actually install KDE this time as I had intended, but don't bet on it. After having a bricked computer for 2 days, honestly I'm quite content with just using what I'm familiar with.

は was replaced by が for a reason.
Look at the first sentence you copied. Sticking わからない on the end of the first clause without replacing は with が sets up カワムラさん to be the subject of the verb わからない. I'm assuming that's not what you intended, since the example sentence definitely doesn't intend for that.

I agree Core6k isn't perfect. There are a handful of words that are outdated like 大蔵省 and 日ソ. There are some words that are obvious from the parts like 駅前 and words obvious from the English like ぱんだ.
Do you have a better solution? Another deck of common words which has audio, example sentences, optimised ordering and succinct, quality definitions? Because if not, Core6k is still your best way of easily getting a solid vocab foundation as a beginner in Japanese. And I still fully recommend it.

Someone with some programming know-how could probably make a script to automate the process of adding audio from Core2K/6K deck to the Anon Core deck (where possible), though I think the particles and stuff should be stripped from that before anyone uses it, less they be misled into thinking particles = words with simple English equivalents.

If you're starting from 60%, your way is better, but if you're starting from 0, then anki is a good way to build a foundation to aid self-study later. It shouldn't be seen as the actual way to lean, but a tool to utilize for what you're lacking in, and a way to add structure/focus that most self-study'ers lack.

I'd make a priority to mine words that are in anon core 5k over words that aren't, even if you don't plan on using the deck. A Frequency Dictionary of Japanese is probably the only somewhat reasonable frequency sampling of the language, everything else I've seen (especially core, and the other unrelated free stuff on the web) uses either highly biased print source corpus or highly unmoderated/unfiltered internet corpus. It's not perfect, of course, and it cuts itself off at 5k words, but it's definitely not misleading.
