I think it picked up a lot after episode 5. Not in terms of pacing, but by then there were enough characters introduced that the SOL was able to stay varied and interesting.
Flying witch may not be my AOTS but it was great, i really loved the cafe episode, settings with low power magic are always comfy as fuck. Also this chart doesn't take irony into count because super lovers was the best worst show i've ever seen.

I can accept giving it to all three of them. They are definitely not directly comparable so it is hard to say which is the best. Even just the fact that one is a full length show and the others were shorts makes things weird. It was truly a great season for people of refined taste.

I get how people would think it's boring. It's not about a plot or even characters. To me it's all about appreciating the simple things in life. They just added magic to spice it up a little. I hope it gets a second season; but I doubt it will.

I could make the argument that the whole witches and magic thing is actually a metaphor for traditionalism which coincides with the overall theme of the show as glorifying rural life (even though the loli is the resident, she gets initiated into new knowledge which is part of a storied history of naturalism). I think it would be a bit of a reach though.

I'm really not sure how I feel about Luluco. Most of the time it was "all or nothing" in that the episodes were really enjoyable, or a just plain slog to get through. I'll probably need to watch all 13 episodes in one sitting before I can make a final judgment on the series.
BnHA was so high because, while it was somewhat poorly paced and some scenes came off awkwardly, it was largely true to the source and made the good parts of the manga even better with the OST and the performance of the VAs. As for Bakuon, it was a real toss-up between it and Luluco, since I felt Luluco probably had better "high points" while Bakuon was more consistently funny/enjoyable, and the characters were just so muchfunthat I couldn't help myself.
With all the mentions of Anne Happy ITT and the occasional mentions in the Sansha Sanyou threads, I'll definitely check it out.

I always assumed that only Hibiki considers her charm effect to be Ren's misfortune due to projection. Ren seems to have the poor probabilistic results that everyone else has except for where her charm can change the outcome, but her actual unique misfortune is that the one she loves can't be honest with her feelings which is also the part of Hibiki to most annoy her.

Luluco, Flying Witch, DJ Tonkatsu, and Boku No Hero were really good, too. Super Lovers was better than I thought it would be.

Having all previous progress erased so that everybody can go full retard, including people randomly turning evil, right before the final battle was unbearable. The final boss fight was nice, but not enough to make up for its failings.

I never intended to pick it up in the first place but when I watched it on a whim I enjoyed the first few episodes quite a lot; however, after about half way through the season, I had become bored of the premise and found the constant romance-baiting to be annoying rather than funny.
I felt like it wore out its welcome as a series which did nothing to move past its premise and the MC's sleepy non-antics eventually stopped being endearing to me. I guess I was expecting more of a SoL/comedy/romance than just a SoL with hints of comedy, so my own expectations of it are partly to blame.

You're forgetting Re:Zero. It's the dark horse of Spring 2016 and you owe it to yourself to watch it. Look at how many top 3's it showed up on itt alone, or look at its projected sales continue to climb.
Do watch Flying Witch as well though. If you liked Tanaka-kun it's hard to imagine that you wouldn't also like FW.
