At least they had gorgeous character designs. Easily an upgrade over the LN, which was already pretty good on it's own but the prominent Shoujo features on the faces kinda make it hard to take them as seriously. The anime had a very good balance which worked out well when Tigre got his arrow moments that took up 90% of the budget. It just wouldn't have worked if they animated it in the LN art style with that music, way too hard to take seriously when it's basically Koihime Musou style or whatever.
As for Youjo, it all depends on the budget and studio. Who knows? No really, do we know anything at this point?

The font style itself isn't a problem in an artistic sense, but the way the font thickens many portions of each letter rendering them hard to distinguish from each other is the main problem. If you found a similar looking font that doesn't go THICC on the strokes then it'd probably be perfect.

I still think it's more based on WWII Germany with a fanatically militarist country, as well as decent combined arms between air assets (both mages and presumably planes), artillery and infantry communicating via radio. The uniforms seem more modern than the WWI uniforms, too. Most of the WWI bit seem to be tied into the motivations for the war, and I think that's on purpose in the same way that naziboos push the same causes as the main motivation for WWII Germany.

I'm not familiar with the background of Vanadis anime, I just thought it was done rather well with the budget they had. They prioritized all the important things, the girls, the arrows, and I guess Tigre's flowing hair in the wind. The music wasn't bad either.
I'd argue it was a better anime adaptation than Overlord, despite Vanadis being vastly less popular as a LN. I have read/watched the anime/manga/LN for both series, and Vanadis does a better job at choosing what content to cut.
Probably helps that Overlord is more wordy and has more exposition. Unlike Vanadis there was no CG Risk simulator but on the other hand you basically lose context for everything assuming there's S2, let alone the context given in for S1 itself.

I understand that part, but I am asking two things, and basically implying to contesting one.
1. The 'cuteness' of the animals in Youjo is in fact not cute at all, like I said while it does have that western touch to it, the designs reek of web comic shit like Dobson instead of actual cartoons like Disney or Peanuts (The former doesn't apply obviously but the latter style was used a lot more back then). It wasn't so much that they chose animals that I found stupid, but that they chose to make them look retarded including the ones representing the Empire.
It's one thing if it was someone else explaining the exposition but for the most part usually the propaganda/strategic explanations are done by Tanya or with Tanya, and therefore it makes no sense that a former Japanese elite salaryman would envision it like some /co/ reject. I don't mind it being western, but it doesn't impress the idea that the Empire are the 'good guys' they look just as derp as everyone else with not one redeeming factor.
The species and expressions are what everyone would use to infer, but I was obviously accusing the guy that he doesn't know what each one actually represents and would get it wrong if he posted what he thought, thereby proving my point that the designs suck.
But since I had to explain it, that kinda kills the entire point.
