0-2 has never been that huge, dominated by giants like Anpanman, Hello Kitty, Winnie the Pooh and, more recently, Inai Inai Buu.
3-5 has always been a cold lock, with Anpanman and the flavours of the month below that (Youkai Watch, Aikatsu and Frozen, lately).
In 6-8, Precure was doing fine until it got bumped off #1 by Aikatsu, then knocked completely off Top-3 (Youkai Watch, Frozen and Aikatsu, in that order). With no monster hit to deal with this year, it's back on top with presumably a broad field beneath the top 3.
By 9-12, Precure is off the bottom and barely relevant anymore. I'm surprised the original series never made a dent, but during HC and Suite, they hit their peak (8%).

Honoka is a dweeb who's not particularly socially skilled. Her awareness and empathy are lacking. She's got a good eye for detail but missed the big puicture here. Nagisa wants to talk to Fuji-p, but maybe she should've stepped back to consider why. Also consider Nagisa's blatant over-reactions to him all the time. I think her being a little unaware f the situation is ncier than her being completely aware and trying to force it.
But then Nagisa is a total dweeb with lots of passion and not a lot of control over herself. She over-reacted here, clearly, but consider that love is the most powerful force in the universe and she's only 13. She's shy and embarassed, two things she doesn't need to be, but she doesn't choose to be either.

Splash Star. It's is the comfiest pretty cure, farthest under the radar, and has the best cast of fun characters from classmates and family members, to villains and cures too. The soundtrack is pretty nice too, lots of strings and woodwinds, very few guitars, no distortion. Fighting is some of the best in precure, with the old fisticuffs feel and the DBZ director.
I love every Cure except Yuri, she's a annoying bitch. Ugly and too old too.

Neither season put any effort at all into the support cast. They practically joked about this with Hikari's friends in the second season, just two little mini versions of Nagisa and Honoka. All of them just had one distinct feature and sat there mostly mostly mostly doing nothing.
The balance was never perfect either. Nagisa always was the pink with all the focus. We spent lots of time inside her bedroom, inside her dining room, with her parents, at her practices, all season long. Honoka on the other hand got a couple of focus episodes each season.

honestly... I understand the monster of the week approach but I'd enjoy it more if they were cut out and we got more character interaction. Just finished watching Go! Princess Precure
What did you guys think about it?
In my opinion it was a step up on the animation and the battles, loved the interaction between the monsters and the precures and how the precures used their attacks other than just shooting at the monster, combination moves and stuff like that, also that every precure had more than a handful of moves.
Other than that I think the theme was a bit too focused on the princess aspect and there was almost no interaction between the antagonists and the precures, they just appeared, summoned despair and went away with little to no interaction until the very end.

Honestly, it wasn't bad. Kind of predictable, and the plot didn't really go anywhere. The princess aspect was contradicted constantly, Haru was as exactly as competent and amazing as the director said at the time. One episode she's completely helpless and the next she's able to take everything on by herself.
Plus the ending wasn't very good.
Overall 8/10 series. The ride was better than the destination.

Not tons, no. They brought Close up front to be Flora's rival but that was more like a face-off each team's ace than them actually being each others' counterpoint. Twilight would've been better for that, but I think we've discussed that missed opportunity to death. It wasn't as personal as you'd expect with the set-up, but at least they knew each others' names, recognized one another and actually knew a thing or two about each other. Most years don't even do that.
I was also expecting the generals to pair off with members of the team early to set up for the finale boss rush (in the most typical way possible) but they went in a completely different direction than that. Not the end of the world, as Shut's character arc was a nice change of pace from that usual approach.

Netflix doesn't disclose viewership data with anyone aside from the distributors/studios who give them their programming.
There's no way to know if it did terrible, but the lack of merchandise paints a negative picture (obviously most companies have some merch going into a launch of a show or property, then ramp it up or down to meet demand). I would guess they wanted to air it on that Saturday morning block they used to run before it got pulled out from under their feet, and start something akin to Power Rangers for girls.
My nieces enjoy it, so that's cool. However it looks like they're pulling a Digimon and just throwing any mention of it into the closet .
