IRL, the norm is to go ahead with special powers and exceptions for the duration of the war or crisis, but to start rolling everything back once peace is reestablished. There's no point being all gung-ho when the war is already over.
A reasonable outcome for Haifuri's events would be for the crew to be properly debriefed and returned to school, with faculty making an effort to condense the curriculum so as to avoid delaying the students' graduation.
I cast my bet on this happening in the series as well, since another school year would fit the series' narrative much better than a rushed graduation followed by the crew being dispersed among ships and shipping-related institutions.

You have this larger overarching story, and then the personal story of the protagonist's stake in the events and how that plays out around them, but the two of them are treated as completely separate and unrelated entities and the former is eschewed almost entirely because there seems to be this obsession with personal stories at the expense of holistic narrative integrity.

For me at least, the haphazard direction made it feel like it just stopped one episode rather than building to a real climax. The instantaneously exciting stuff like smashing into the Musashi was cool, but overall it was a pretty hollow-feeling conclusion.
