Movies are mostly retellings of events, not recaps, they go differently than the series. Except Plus, I tink they pretty much went the same. And 7's are just extra shit, not retellings but I didn't watch.
Don't worry much about continuity because Kawamori stated that all these are in-universe shows of historical events. So there were real Space Wars and the famous people are real, etc but it's a dramatization of history, subject to artistic license like in our world. The exception are some of Minmay's (first songstress) concerts, because that's actual footage of her, and some official information.
Best to watch in production order. So, SDF and DYRL > Plus > 7 > Zero > Frontier and its movies. Kawamori didn't make II and doesn't like it.
