I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you go in with the expectation of being amazed, even if i think it deserves such praise.
It's mostly a light hearted adventure that plays on classic fantasy/RPG themes(that said it's not really a "RPG world" style setting), so whether or not you'll like the manga depends on your ability to appreciate those themes.
I'd personally recommend you give it a chance and see if it suits you.
