G was fine, nothing special but not bad either. It suffered after episode 4 due to Shenshou Jing, but at least it had fewer dumb "fun" moments than S1. Kirika's paranoia and Chris's issues were genuinely well executed and showed more depth and complexity than any character-centric interactions and developments from S1 or GX.
GX isn't worth it. The first 6 episodes are like a shallow boss rush version of S1, but those are easily outdone by S1 and G's best moments. Past that, the season has nothing of substance to it.

And GX is probably the most symphogear series in that sense as very stupid, 1,6 and GENOCIDE are *amazing* but the rest of it really isn't that great yeah.
I really hope they learn from their mistakes for future seasons and stop making it so formulaic and episode based. Hope they can do something about cast bloat as well.

Only way I'd deal with cast bloat is just boot Tsubasa and Maria out as if they're on tour somewhere and so can't step in until the finale. 4 characters is easily manageable, especially since they know they have 2 more seasons now and can space out what they actually want to do instead of rushing it all
GX is way better than G for me.
