Everyone told me how great this show is.
But i had to drop it after the first episode. I'm alergic to these kind of characters. I almost punched my screen because of this bitch. She is basically made to be hated.

You don't have to. It's simple enough to enjoy anyway. Some of the references might be lost on you if you aren't familiar with anime. See:Daicon IV and lupin III for starters. It's generally just wacky nonsense with some coming of age metaphors and references to encroaching western culture (Baseball, rock n' roll), and a nod to robotics being Japans hero.

FLCL is not a straightforward coming of age at all. It's closer to something like the catcher in the rye. A typical coming of age would be your stranded period drama for WMT.

You know things don't have to be super complicated for them to be good, right? FLCL is great, partly because it gets right to the point.
