It's a clever and genuinely hilarious parody of the isekai genre, but isn't solely a parody that pokes fun at established clichés. It has a heart. Even DEEN, a studio known for its QUALITY, put effort into their animation.

If KonoSuba isn't AOTS winter 2016, then we can at least agree that it's the Dark Horse of that season and, so far, of the year.

Darkness was strong, sexy, and received ample screen time.

Is it a parody?
I feel like people have a tendency to use parody as shorthand for "X, but as a comedy." Konosuba is certainly an isekai comedy, but aside from the 1st episodes setting introduction I can't really think of any point where it's been parodying tropes, archetypes or standards of the genre outside of a handful of gags. It's mostly just played the isekai thing straight and just been a clever comedy within that setting.

Self-aware parodies trying to be ironic are still parodies.

It's just like how ironic shitposting is still shitposting.

I was sorry for the dullahan

Your statement boiled down to "it's a parody because it's a parody"
Which doesn't really explain why you think something that isn't a parody is somehow a parody.

The dullahan was fucking great. That flashback of him rolling his head to peek up skirts actually made me laugh.

Parodies are essentially ironic, mane. Ironic shitposting is a parody of shitposting.

It was pure entertainment, anon.

Everything in the plot had the purpose of being fun.

it was fun, i thought it was gonna give me a bad taste like sao

It didn't take itself seriously and at least for me, it was reminiscent of the good old fantasy/comedy adventure anime like Mahoujin Guru Guru.
>>
>>143183577
It made me laugh out loud and gave me a boner at the same time, multiple times.

Anon, please.
>Parody: a close, usually mocking imitation of a particular literary work, or of the well-known style of a particular author, in order to expose or magnify weaknesses. Parody is a form of satire --that is, humour that may ridicule or scorn its subject.
t. The Broadview Anthology of British Literature, 3rd edition.

Where in Konosuba do you find serious criticism, ridicule or scorn of its subject or the exposure of weaknesses?
