That's what differentiates Berserk from edgefests like Akame ga Kill and Tokyo Ghoul, despite all the bad shit that happens its a very human story where the grim environment is there to showcase the emotional strength of the cast. The Eclipse exist to demonstrate a very painful experience in Guts life and what drives him forward because the readers get to experience his anger first hand and why its justified its not meant to be exploitative moreso shocking because Guts its witnessing the only period of happiness in his miserable life taken away by the man who gave it to him. Berserk is a very dark manga but its a human story first not an edgy one.

Too expensive, especially later arcs where the characters have more outlandish designs, more armored characters get screen time, or anything to do with the Berserker armor. I think a studio like MAPPA could probably do it but most studios would cut corners so much that it'd probably look even worse than the CG we're getting.

I believe Schierke says that the one who wore this armour before Guts "fought until all his flesh was eaten away and all his blood gushed out" or something like that.
