It exists because a woman started a self-insert romance about an elementary schooler seducing her teacher, then thought out the characters enough that it became a genuinely good, touching drama as well. Japan let it be created because they're not completely insane to the point where they're censoring works of fiction for having things some people don't like.

I loved this series, and I loved seeing how grown-up Kuro became a sexy ladykiller type. I was disappointed that Rin stayed the same because not only was it a copout for the loli fans, it was completely unrealistic. No girl at age 16 doesn't have pubic hair, unless Rin shaved them off before seeing Aoki. If it was just her breasts that hadn't grown it wouldn't piss me off, but as it was, I got the impression that Rin had been starving herself in order to stunt her growth to remain a loli forever.

I know, but the rest of the manga had a really realistic approach to growth, the effects of hormones, abuse, age gaps, and other stuff.
