I find Aria a lot more boring to be honest. The actual setting is really cool, but I prefer a show-and-not-tell type of narrative like NNB (and a lot of other shows in this genre) have as opposed to Aria's very intentional style of shoving tons of exposition down my throat while everyone is saying how happy Neo Venezia is all the time.

President Aria is pretty fucking insufferable in my opinion. I know that I'm not the only one with this opinion too.
I agree that Komari could be used better though, she doesn't interact with the rest of the cast outside of Hotaru & Natsumi enough.

It's not for everyone, honestly.
Thematically, it's just a kinda melancholic collection of daily life stories about what are possibly the last generation of kids in a small hick village that's slowly dying out with the times, with an outsider moving into the village and adjusting happily embodying the possibility that there may be hope for the village's future after all (it's in her fucking name even, she's pretty much a light for the village)
You can ignore that and just treat it as a show where cute girls do cute things though. Still just as enjoyable either way really - unless you're absolutely not into this type of series period, NNB probably won't be the one that changes your mind.

I think that they're different enough to the point where saying

makes little sense, that's all I was saying. They take different approaches entirely (as opposed to similar ones like what you're implying)
Aria is self-indulgent with the cast narrating to each other why life on this new planet is as good as it is, where NNB has comparitively little-to-no exposition and was more about the cast discovering simple pleasures in life instead
Aria feels otherworldly (given it's setting and all), NNB feels the opposite.
Not talking about one being better than the other at all here, for that you can have whatever opinion you want for all I care.
