Most of the anti /u/ sentiments you see going on here are the reaction of a large anti-/u/ campaign from a (or a small group of) fujoshi a few years back. They made lots of threads declaring yuri to be the purest form of love and more than that, they spammed non yuri threads with the message that only yuri was acceptable.
Some of the anti /u/ sentiments come from the silliness of the /u/ fags (and the /u/ material).
