It's becoming neither a mess nor a failure. It's following through on all of its premises. The main characters are hybrid corpses and their power to change the status quo is why they are interesting and in unique danger. "Grounded" zombie shit is always stupid because zombies are easy to fucking beat. It's not even funny. Zombie apocalypse is practically an oxymoron. At the beginning of the series, the world has already adjusted to this kind of life and the train crashing at the start was literally a once in a lifetime catastrophe. This is more like Resident Evil than Walking Dead and we should be thankful for that.

If the main character is killed off, then the story is fucking dumb. If he isn't killed off, then the story is fucking dumb. How did he survive the fall? How did he survive walking to the next station? How did he suddenly power up to take on LASER BITCH ZOMBIE?
This series can literally go nowhere from here that involves it's audience that it started with.
