Also can we please not have this turn into an absolute shit post?

No, we can't.

Turn A gundam, the world building was every gundam series before it.

1.) It's a fictional series.

2.) Yes why would you think you couldn't have a landmass like that?

3.) You could get mad at reverse mountain, that would be impossible. In universe it makes sense though.

It's not magic.

There are planets that have a high ridge circling the planet. Add water and it'd look like One Piece's world.

Don't attack stupid shit, at least try and talk about the impossibility of reverse mountain.

That said in the end it's a fictional universe and it has to make sense in universe.

Earth actually.

A planet that is rotating has a bulge around it's axis of rotation.

Other plants that rotate as well.

Like are all you retards in grade 7 or something?

We'd just need a planet that that rotational bulge is the prominent feature of the planet.

But again this is a fictional universe. Those types of criticism don't really count unless they are contradictory in universe. This is something that's possible in reality.

Considering how currents work and how water weathers land masses and creates natural straits and rivers no this land mass is entirely impossible
>>
>>143077427
For me it's got to be Eureka 7 (AO not canon). The way it's able to mix mysticism with science, counter cultures into a military state, very distant past events with its current timeline, organic things like the alien landscape and fauna with "inorganic" things like the LFOs, and then tie all of that into its characters (antagonists and protagonists), that is nothing if not strong world building.
>>
>>143081861
Do you have some ocean models to source for that?

Also no. I stupid ocean currents, which is why I told people the only criticism was basically reverse mountain, calm belts, and grand line in general.

The red line is not the problem.

The point in the end is it's a fictional universe and is explained in universe.

Also don't you think you're a little stupid to focus on things that are small nit picks, rather then big things like devil fruits? Nope you accept those because it's a fictional universe, but can't accept perfectly fine geology.

Can't beat One Piece, it's one of the longest manga of all time and its almost entirely about exploration and world building.

Other contenders are like Tower of God which is just too abstract and Full Metal Alchemist which is too brief.

One Piece is good only because Oda is smart enough to never ever mention it's actual geography or talk about distance/travel times unless absolutely necessary and most of the time it is just "near" or "far.

There are for example theories that Foosha village was at the edge of the calm belt and allows for stuff like OP's pic to kind of make sense. But in actual world-building sense there is barely any of it.

I'd say the actual winner is FMA, specially considering that both the story and the geography are directly related to the plot (in contrast to One Piece in which they are mostly just excuses for ADVENTURE).

I don't honestly remember another anime where world-building is actually relevant.
>>
>>143077485

Re:New x Testament is a manga spin-off to the Old testament LN, It's kind of good, but the MC is a wish-fulfillment, self-insert mary sue .

The quran is alright I guess, no one bothers translating it though, so you're out of luck if you're an EOP. The fanbase is extremely obnoxious too.
I suggest skipping the hadith, author tries way too hard at forcing his ideals, and the MC becomes insufferable.

Especially since everyone argues about the translation.

It's infuriating. We spend time accurately translating it from nipland to english and no matter the translation people complain. It's almost like religious people complaining if it doesn't fit the narrative they have.

deepest lore: the world of one piece is a post apocalyptic world to which the world was destroyed by making the planet tidal locked to it star by killing it rotational angular momentum about its axis. This caused the oceans to retreat from the equator towards the poles. all northern and southern continents were flooded only leaving the highest mountains as islands and an exposed equatorial landmass that stretches across the planet with hot and dry conditions.

It probably is, especially that much above water level. Then again, the war and Fujitoras test showed us how much destruction is possible in the world of One Piece. My theory is still that the world of OP had a lot more landmass before some broken df users destroyed half of it at some point.
