Absalon at least has tension, something Super lacks. The only characters doing anything important in Super is Goku and Vegeta, and everyone else is just on the sidelines. At least Absalon has most of the characters actually doing something. Super has never had a moment where we weren't certain everything would be okay. Sure, Beerus made a whole mess about destroying the Earth, but anyone with a brain knew that he wouldn't because of his meme with food. And the tournament arc was just filler with no real villain. Freeza arc was short and nothing new - literally rehashing an old villain for the purposes of nostalgia. This current arc is the first chance for Super to actually have an arc of value, even though it is yet again rehashing an old character to appeal to nostalgia. Hell, even the villain is a rehash of an existing character.
I'm certain no one but Goku and Vegeta will be fighting. No one else is strong enough to be relevant anymore, and THAT is where Super has failed. It is no longer a show about the Z fighters. It is a show about Goku and Vegeta. I mean, the only villain strong enough to fight either of them is literally a copy of Vegeta and a 'black' Goku. How is that coherent? It's retarded. Absalon is retarded too, but at least it's trying something new and interesting. We'll see how it turns out when it's done in three decades.

One of the very few redeaming factor of Super was that it changed the scale.
In DB and DBA, the arcs always ended with the heroes get some power up that made them unconditionally stronger then the enemy they were facing.
Super is actually refreshing because Goku and Vageta have pretty much lost every fight they have had so far.
-Even with god and SSB neither have the power to beat Beerus or Whis 1V1.
-Golden Freeza was hands down stronger then SSB, and Freeza only lost because of his arrogance, and not training just a little bit more to negate the energy drain of his new form. Even then, he still managed to beat them by blowing up the planet and killing everyone on it while he himself survived. They only got out of it because Whis has hack powers.
-Hit is so fucking OP that even SSB with Kaio-KenX10 Goku would have ultimately lost the fight. Whil he may have been physically stronger then Hit, Hit's powers made him better.
Super is actually interesting becuase now that they went full on unviersal, and multi universal scale, they have found opponents as strong, and stronger, as they are, and aren't exactly winning against them.
