No shit anon. ONE doesn't do long and continuous 1v1 battles. The duration of fight scenes in this series ,when compared to the common battle manga, are pretty short. Usually if the fight doesn't serve much significance to the story, it will end in a few moments with the hero or villain blowing they're opponent the fuck out. Most of the major fights in the MA arc were fought in groups with the adversaries alternating between heroes.

They're only of any import for martial artists, but they're small fry compared to the wider world. The fact that their victories are juxtoposed with Genos beating down monsters the same way they won is to show just how inferior they are in comparison. They were given attention in the start because they're participants in Super Fight, and those who participate in the tournament are considered "qualified". They're given less attention now because their achievements are just that minor in comparison to designated jobber Genos.

I tried reading it a few months ago after I saw the first two episodes which I thought were pretty good, but then after reading it, I think I dropped it at either the point when the main character and his rival fight and each have a team mate or the part where they all do tests like running. Whichever is further. Anyway I don't really remember exactly everything about it because it was some time ago. Firstly I thought it would be interesting if the main guy figured out how to become a great hero without having a quirk like they made it seem in the first two episodes, but instead they give him a quirk. Boring. The humor with the bloody mouth blonde guy is bad. The forced romance with the girl. The rival kid is angry all the time for no reason. Really it's just a really bad kid's manga.

I like BnHA. But it has a wholly different appeal from OPM. The pure idealism of the MC and how he pursues it, but actually suffers for it in return and is met with the reality of his own incapability is nice. Not for everybody, but that's fine. Naruto doesn't have a stranglehold on the character archetypes that have been showcased so far or the overarching plot of becoming the "greatest" (and even then, Deku and Naruto have different motivations for pursuing their goals, Naruto doing so because he wanted to be accepted by everyone). Not sure on the specific themes you're thinking of, but the ones I can come up with are general enough as well. As for execution? Perhaps, in the way how gritty things can get.

OPM, initially, is a satire on all the tropes of both capeshit and common shounen battle manga. That means actually understanding the material on which it is a satire of. Then it takes it more seriously.
Ratman is less capeshit and more sentai, in my opinion. The commercialization of heroes isn't really capeshit in my opinion. Though, I suppose, it's all capeshit in the end, just a difference between how Japan handles it compared to the Western tropes we're familiar with.
