A nuke does damage in three stages, it irradiates heat and light, it blasts and it scatters radioactive materials around. The bigger you go, the less relevant the radioactive materials become relative to the other effects as the heat irradiation has a much greater and more noticeable immediate effect. Effectively, when a nuke goes off, the temperature of the fireball is millions of degrees, but it dissipates relatively quickly.
Uiharu's power potentially lets her maintain the fireball at exactly the temperature it was when it goes off, which effectively creates a micro-sized sun right inside the lower atmosphere, and it will keep burning anything and everything its light touches until Uiharu wants to turn it off. As if this weren't enough, say you want to erase not only one third of the planet but the entirety of it, it would also superheat the surrounding air into plasma endlessly creating an ever-growing shockwave that could level mountain ranges.
Basically, Uiharu is an apocalypse machine if she wants to be and can get her hands on a nuke big enough (they exist).

Ok there are a few things wrong woth this. First, physically touching an expolosion. If she can maintain the temperature of the super heated air, then at what point is she limitted to the vomume of the gas? If she held out her hand to the sky normally, would then entire earth's atmosphere maintain a constant temp? That alone would kill a lot of life on Earth. Also is she limmited by the relative connective forces of the molecules? E.g. Tertairy protiens are held together via hydrogen bonds, but all molecules have some level of interactive forces so weak they can be descived as bonds or interactions momentairly. If she maintains the temperature of a wall, at what point is it just the wall? Or the whole house?
Second, lets say she can keep a normal explosion at a constant temp. Normal combustion explosions run on oxygen, if she is within the blast wouldn't she suffocate? Or wouldn't the explosion run out of oxygen and dissipate? Or does the super heated air remain and the air she is inhaling is immediately cooled by her abillity to maintain her own body temp? Then at that point you have to decide if she can also change the temperature of the air the moment she begins inhaling it.
Third, if she maintains heat via being able to controll a constant velocity of atomic vibration within every particle in her cells, wouldn't all normal cell function halt? Exergonic reactions wouldn't be able to take place due to not being able to release more entropy into the enviorment.

From what I gathered from this series is that the supernatural phenomena in this series basically tells physics to fuck of until the esper or magician stop whatever reality warping crap they do. Afterwards natural phenomena results. This means that yes, Uiharu could keep the flames going without oxygen, but she would indeed suffocate and as soon as she stops using her power and natural laws resume the fire would extinguish. Since even Accelerator can't get around this without a gas canister, she would definitely kill herself by either suffocation, the air roasting her lungs, the initial shock-wave crushing her organs, etc. At least at level 4 and below I would think. Not sure if she can control her internal processes at level 5.
