That part of the story with the royal guard make me wonder when exactly the filler arcs were set, but also suggests that they're more canon than some anons would have us believe.
It does make me wonder about Zaraki's strength prior to choosing the shinigami profession.
A second question: if dominating the hollow/asauchi is part of the hollowfication process, and strength is gained from what you kill (like any hollow), then why is that power divided up so evenly between the sword and shinigami?
If simply getting stronger made the asauchi stronger as it "ate" other hollows, wouldn't that leave the shinigami at scrub level and at a total imbalance from the sword?
So then I figure Nimaiya made some dividing mechanism be part of the sword.
It would explain why there was room for Ywhach to hack a proxy into Ichigo.
It's just weird to think that the whole zanpakto->shikai->bankai process is unlocking limiters rather than attaining some new level, since it was never explained even in the filler arcs what would happen if all the noob shinigami gained 100% access to their shinigami/hollow powers

I think it works like this. You've got raw power, and then you've got THE HEART. A soul with nothing but raw power can accomplish some magicy effects (like Hitsugaya chilling his house) but weaponizing it requires either a lot of skill (kido) or a vessel to focus it in, which is what the heart does.
Hollows have their hearts turned into masks, making them powerful but fucked in the head because your heart isn't supposed to be on your face.
Arrancar aren't really hybrids, they're just optimized by taking the mask off their face and changing it into a more efficient weapon. Same principle as Ichigo's bankai.
Asauchi are artificial "blank" hollows that work as a second heart, allowing shinigami to manifest unique powers based on their own hearts like a hollow would, without the drawbacks of actually taking their hearts out.
Normal hollows don't get stronger by eating, and asauchi don't eat. That only starts once they become Menos.

Yes, but he probably has the same level of batshit immortality as Lille/Gerard if not more. Cutting him in half like she did with that one tentacle hollow isn't going to cut it, she'd need to reject him out of existence altogether, and that would fuck over reality because no more spirit king. And if he realizes what she's trying to do for even a second, which he will unless Aizen really can screw with his vision, he can just pick a future where her hairpins and/or head get smashed and that's the end of it.

He doesn't just make up futures out of nothing, he sees possible futures, and then he can make any results of those futures occur immediately, skipping the actions that were supposed to cause them (like having to swing his sword to break Ichigo's) and bypassing any actions that could have prevented them.

We know that some very rare shinigami manifest 'heart' (their individualised power) without a blank hollow to imprint on.
A blank hollow isn't really a hollow, it's some bullshit empty construct to imprint on to.
Hollows are spirits (sometimes human), who've lingered too long and basically go insane from soul chain rot. This forces their 'heart' around them manifesting their individual power to use freely.
So, Ichigo who has shinigami, hollow and quincy powers appears to be missing a power.
We've not really seen the extent of any of them. Young ywach was keeping his powers sealed/limited, all he did was move fast and shoot lasers. His hollow form was a really, really generic hollow. More speed, power and good regen. His quincy haven't done anything, he may not even get the conceptual magic yhwach underlings got.
So what the fuck was ichigo's innate power? How was Isshin able to teach him a very specific move? What the fuck was whites power before it touched misaki (does that power even transfer)? Ichigo obtained a sword without something to imprint on, because he had DOUBLE hollow in him. The one transferred from mother and 'himself' when he hollowified.
