It ends with the whole business being made illegal and the MC being chased down by the governmen. Since he has become some sort of legend in the profession, they want to make an exemple out of him. Unfortunately for them, he learned to control his weird illusion techniques and murders all his pursuers. It ends in a café, with the MC adressing the reader after surviving his last stand. Kind of a "breaking the fourth wall copout, but it worked wonderfuly IMO.
