Both the substitute shinigami and soul society arcs are ok then the next ichigos learning to control his mask then he's fighting grimmjow followed straight away by Ulquiorra and then next is Aizen
Although there's irl years between the two the in-universe time is so short
I wish Kubo actually expanded shit, seeing more of the espada together would have been great or a filler arc of Aizen creating and recruiting them woulda been fine, they were great super villains

I remember being excited about Ichigo fights as late as the final Aizen fight.

It's hard to compare those arcs though. In HM we had far less good guys to worry about. As a result, each good guy could get their own individual fight. It's a lot harder to do that in this last arc.

The amount of characters is about the same and the amount of people who got individual fights was also roughly the same. Every captain except Ukitake got a fight and pretty much every vice-captain/Ikkaku/Yumichika got a fight in the Arrancar arc. Hell even Chad got a fucking fight.
The difference is that the Arrancar arc had a lot more buildup before things took off. The Quincy Invasion popped up in Hueco Mundo, then in SS, disappeared for a while, then popped back up for the big war not long after.

The only thing that can counter The Almighty is The Almighty. Now I am not saying this is the case, after all I still believe that Ichigo may have The Almighty. But what if The Almighty and the power of soul distribution are separate? It is possible when we consider that Jugram, another soul distributor quincy, is not a user of it and in fact states that the power is not suitable for him.
If this is how things are then the only way Ichigo can beat Yhwach is by gaining The Almighty from him, and to achieve this he will need to have a good chunk of his soul inside Yhwach. Perhaps his only chance of beating Yhwach is to have his powers stolen, then reclaim them and gain the memories and abilities of Yhwach.

It's not going to matter in the end and this could easily not be the case. Remember when Ichigo was on his way to FKT with Unohana and everybody was saying/thinking the only way Ichigo could beat Aizen was if he actively avoided Kyouka Suigetsu's release or he'd have to find a way to fight through it. And then it turned out to be a non factor because Aizen was so cocky he never even used his strongest ability.

That's exactly how the powers of a soul distributor work. He imparts pieces of his soul, lets it soak up on the soul of its host and nurtures it. Then when the time is right, it returns to its owner, bringing experiences, memories and powers of the old host. For something like The Almighty a larger chunk may be required.

Based on what? Raw strength? What they can accomplish regardless of time or circumstance? Hacchi's got the most potential, but he's supposedly not combat capable. Shinji, as the leader and one of the 3 captains should sensibly be the most competent without a mask. But if we're just looking bottom line victory conditions, Mashiro, hands down: The Mask gives a substantial boost in power that more or less negates any base form's, and Mashiro's mask is the only one that can last 14 hours+. Everyone else can hold for a few minutes, tops.
