Which historical figures would you like to see in or adapted into anime or manga?
Still wanting for a mormon arc in index. if Aleister Crowley can be the Aleister Crowley, why not serial polygamist Joseph Smith?
Andrew Jackson

He was indeed a badass and a capable general, but he was a pretty shitty president if you actually read into his life and administration during those 4 years.
>>142819371
>was a pretty shitty president
by what standard, too interventionist or involved?
Didn't know any thing about him other than the central bank bit and that the republican party was form out of such disdain for the man.
>>142818927
Donald Trump.
>>142819783
We can have another, but it's already been done.
>>142818927
Aleister Crowley is already in D-grayman.
>>142818927
Zeno of Elea
>>142819893
just named after him though. Index Crowley is the historical Alister Crowley.
>>142819631
No, it has nothing to do with his foreign policy. He and his administration were pretty notorious for being corrupt and they were embroiled in one of the biggest sex scandals in American history until Clinton. More and more decisions on bills became decided on by partisan loyalty rather than its soundness. And whether or not you care about blacks and Indians, the whole Indian removal act only divided the nation more and more between the North and the South, as well as setting important precedents concerning state authority trumping federal authority, which made the civil war more and more likely.
God-Emperor Väinämöinen
Proto-Finnis were based
Benjamin Franklin. He's pretty moe for a historical figure of his magnitude, and he even has the world's first recorded toast-in-mouth scene
>I asked for a threepenny loaf, and was told they had none such. So, not considering or knowing the difference of money, and the greater cheapness nor the names of his bread, I bade him give me threepenny worth of any sort. He gave me, accordingly, three great puffy rolls. I was surprised at the quantity, but took it, and having no room in my pockets , walked off with a roll under each arm, and eating the other. Thus I went up Market Street as far as Fourth Street, passing by the door of Mr. Reed, my future wife's father, when she, standing at the door, saw me and thought I made, as I certainly did, a most awkward, ridiculous appearance.
As if you need to ask
For a non-meme response, Douglas MacArthur. The "hat, sunglasses, pipe" visual gag is ubiquitous but I'd love to see a more serious historical drama take on it.
I want to see Japan tackle it, basically one of, if not the, major pop culture representative of the Allied effort in the Pacific Theater, and then his further activities in Japan as Gaijin Shogun.
>>142818927
>serial polygamist
Isn't that a tautology? I mean, isn't most of not all polygamy of the serial sort?
>>142820666
Did the Navy really hate him?
>>142820752
If you marry two wives, you are a polygamist with only one instance under your belt.
You'd probably have to have about 5+ wives concurrently to be a proper serial polygamist, though 3 is technically the minimum.
>>142820666
Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei did it once. He was a douchebag obsessed with opening things, though he was a fake.
>>142820962
That was Perry, not MacArthur.
>>142820962
Wasn't that Commodore Perry?
pic related
>>142818927
You already posted him. Joseph Smith
>>142820784
American or Japanese?
The conflicts with the US Navy was usual interservice rivalry and politics, him being basically head of the army and an enormous part of the Pacific Theater being amphibious warfare. To say nothing of MacArthur's notorious ego and his more polarizing tactical and strategic decisions, and his cultivation of very capable subordinate commanders.
>>142818927
Realistically speaking
The only major western figure the japs are likely to animate is Douglas MacArthur. It'll be decades before it becomes appropriate but he's the only one who can stroke their ego while still being western.
There has been a Tesla manga by Araki,a VN, and a Fate related appearance but full anime involving his exploits when?
>>142821390

Any so long as they are portrayed as cute girls.
The Beatles
Change them all to cute girls, it can be like K-ON, but with additional travelling all over the world.
Starts off cute, eventually turns into anger, drug abuse and wife-beating.
