Kamachi has the story planned out and is good at worldbuilding, but his execution is lacking in some areas. He tends to recton shit through side stories, even pulling unexpected developments only to disregard them afterwards (my favorite is Mikoto and Lessar in SS2 and then acting like nothing happened in NT8). The story is dragging out, it is getting too long already and there are more plot points open than resolved, more questions than answers. He hardly will give a proper and satisfying closure to every element in his story at this rate.
Two-dimensional characters is an inherent flaw of Kamachi's writing style. All it takes to make a new character quirky and fun is add a verbal tic and a crazy backstory fitting his role in the story. But in the end the characters themselves are poorly developed and get thrown away once their relevance is over. There are critical characters you can't leave underdeveloped like Index, but still fall victim of this syndrome.

These are the only series that are remotely close to Kamachi's writing, and only because they have PoVs for more than one protagonist crossing paths to each other. In addition to Horizon, tons of characters that become relevant when they're needed for the current arc, but also have their own stories running in the back. But unlike Index's author, Horizon's author is a better writer and make use of less relevant characters in the main cast to have consistent relevance in the story, at least more than what Index's author does on a basis.

Nah. You definitely haven't read the other series if you think that. One Piece is as long as Index, makes use of foreshadowing elements told early in the story and has large worldbuilding and lots of throwaway characters. The other series are similar in other elements heavily present in Index's writing like apparently powerless underdog MCs in a superpowered world, Espers, etc. Take out multiple protagonists and the narrative and action is pretty much the same. If just different PoVs is what you take of Kamachi's writing, then Narita has got his beat as well with Baccano and Durarara. The Fate franchise trumps Raildex in every aspect as well. The only special aspect of his Index writing is the indiscriminate amount of characters bloating the series, but that's also seen in other never-ending series.
Genuinely curious as to why Misaka is this popular. She's been topping the Kono Sugoi rankings for years too. It can't just be because she's a cute girl with superpowers, can it? There are plenty of other characters like that.

I haven't read OP in a long time, dropped it when I didn't like it being another nakama battle shounen manga. I'm not going to start now, but from what the writing is in no way like Kamachi's for reasons already stated. The same goes for the others on the list.
Foreshadowing is what most writers do, that's not special to Index. Same for basic world-building and having loads of side characters that comes and goes when the plot needs them. If you thinks are the main reason to Kamachi's style then you hardly know much about his style at all.
Now, Durarara and Baccano are series that a hell more like like Kamachi than those you list besides Regios and Horizon. Main difference being is Narita is all about being twisted and running many, many on-going PoVs with varying degrees of length that doesn't restrict itself from time and arc formats like Kamachi does. Another difference is his writing is purely character driven, whereas Index focuses on a plot with characters moving about to bring a conclusion to the plot at hand.

When I say foreshadowing I don't mean obvious and basic storytelling, I mean small details that may seem insignificant early on but turn out to be important many years later for the writer, which is only applicable to long-ass series with large worldbuilding like Index and One Piece. Other endless series tend to be very lineal and simple and still have a lot of inconsistencies due to the length of the series, like Naruto or DB. The main categories are normally broken down to most cute and most interesting, and sometimes it's the small things, the idiosyncrasies of certain traits that are so moe they can make or break the character.
Megumin of KonoSuba should be a good example to speak of. She's the most popular girl by a wide margin and is dominating as of late, but some people don't get her. Of the reasons why, I can probably say Megumin's moe power is extremely strong because of her chuuni, but it's not only just because she's chuuni, but the way she behaves and as a chuuni compound with her loli design and personality that synergizes her chuuni exceedingly well to pushes her above most chuunis before her. Saying this doesn't explain why to someone who doesn't' get her. It's hard to explain it in words. If you watched or read the series then her moe-ness should be apparent to those who understand her moe. But you don't get it then you don't either because different strokesor not high enough powerlevel.

That's the point as to why I asked. Index predates at least half the series you mentioned so far, and only a few of them have writing similar to Kamachi. But writing aside, Index's stories and setting is one that hasn't been done before until Kamachi wrote Index. So Even now after Index is popular, there are very, very few series that have takes after Index's setting and stories, but Index does get reference due to its popularity and iconic "when "magic and science" meets motiff plot line. Strike the Blood is the closest that comes to mind to being most like Index from a story and setting and new heroine every arc standpoint, but its writing is quite different from Kamachi's.
Still makes zero sense why you compared One Piece to Index. I can't even fathom it since everything I know of it is entirely different from Index where it matters. One Piece is a lot like Bleach and Naruto in many ways as a pure battle shounen manga that seems endless and goes on and on with nakama tropes everywhere, and the latter two have foreshadowing and world-building in a long ass series too, but they are also very far from being like Index in the way we're discussing about.
