I actually started re-watching g-reco today,I just happened to finish up episode 3 and aside from one scene it's not as bad as people were saying it was.
maybe it got worse later but I don't really remember since I was following a lot of shows that season.
I remember anons saying that watching the show back to back made it easier to follow than watching over the span of multiple months so I tried it and I'm actually getting a better understanding of Bellri's character as well as others than before.
It's not a terrible show but I don't think it's the philosophical masterpiece a lot of people claim it was,right now I'd put it around turn A and 00 season 1 so like a strong 7.5 to a soft 8/10
Also for those who haven't seen it this show has a GOAT tier atmosphere,Tomino's imagination paired with Kenichi Yoshida's designs does wondersAlso after re-watching I noticed many of the characters are the children of or are related to people who hold high political power in this series.,
I think Tomino might have done this too emphasize the whole point about the children taking up responsibility to change the world after adults fucked it over

I tried to watch g-reco ongoing, but dropped around ep 10. It was too boring. Despite all the fights I couldn't understand why should I care about this conflict. Characters were pretty unremarkable too, authors spent too much time showing their actions (with all those random dances, weird and pointless dialogues), but too little time showing their emotions. For me greco was like Aria the Animation, but with military and robots. It's fine if you enjoy futuristic scenery, technology and pointless gundam fights, but it's a bad pick if you care about characters and conflict.
Also /m/ was mistake and every person who posted there at least one time should be forever banned.
I think the reason G-reco is so confusing to so many isnt that it was nonsensical but rather the characters really didnt justify the effort needed to put all the pieces together. The characters dont even have the privledge of being bad or hatable they are all just kind of unremarkable and not too memorable which caused the side characters aside from slim to just sort of blend in the background which made the different factions come off as confusing to many,
Gundam to me has always been about the characters but G-reco really didnt give me much reason to care for anyone nor even let me love to hate them like heero who was so fucking stupid i loved watching him and the show reach new heights of utter retardation

G-Reco's primary message is that the youths shouldn't let history color or blind how they see the world, i.e. don't let the dark past weigh down hope for the future.
The most recurring themes deal with how history and lineage has shaped people. Bellri, who was orphaned and had his family destroyed, is the epitome of someone who has no ties to his past. Luin who can only reference the past to justify his feelings of injustice is the epitome of someone who is shaped by the history of his people. Turn A was never the end all timeline for Gundam it was suppose to be its thematical conclusion and G-Reco enforces it.

The difference is that with Concrete Revolutio all the people who were too stupid to follow it dropped it early and left it alone since. The threads are nice and low on shitposting, but it's not rare to see the show be shit on by people who dropped it early outside of the threads.
