When was the last time anime actually fooled you?

Does it really count as fooling if it's just until the end of the first episode?
Memedoka kept it up until the third

Has the anime gotten to the part where it's revealed thateverything is okay, they're just really chuuni?

Madoka only fooled idiots. We knew the writer was Urobuchi so it obviously wasn't going to be a standard Magical Girl show

Yes, because they can't really keep the ruse going for much longer. It's also a great hook at the end of the first episode.

Haifuri had me expecting a cross between Aria and Sora no Woto, but I should have known such a thing was too good to be true.

What went wrong?

Kurozuka. I mean, if you haven't read read the manga.

Yeah it fooled me, I thought it would be good but after all, horror parts were shit, sol parts were shit, literally nothing was done right.

How could anyone be fooled by this? It was obvious something was going on almost straight away.

What could have been a reasonably interesting mutiny plot ended up being explained by mind control hamsters. It's no longer about the Harekaze being a rogue ship with everyone out to get them, they just go around helping their school by spraying seawater on the crews of infected ships to cure them.

The tip-off that this was not going to be Aria with bigger boats should have been that the creator of this series is a guy who writes Strike Witches and Garupan spinoff manga. I didn't look that up until after the first episode shattered my illusion, though.
Katanagatari episode 4. Nanami a best.
