One of the things Asterisk has going for it is the worldbuilding/academy itself, probably why it's the name of the series.
Most Academy Battle harems have one school or whatever, but this one has 6 in one mega island city.
There's plenty of other interesting characters and schools to focus on, with each school having their own theme.
Shame the interesting potential of it is wasted on the most boring school, which is basically like a general highschool for normal gifted students.
Makes me want to see the Idol arc animated, because she's really interesting compared to all the other girls.
