Mikan and Yui still have their good share of chapters. Yami lately is not on screen too much, but every other character mentions her all the time and she is part of every plot event.
Run may be is not as relevant Yui or Mikan but her position looks more solid overall than the background characters. So I'd say she is someway half way between support and background.

She's definitely the most diverse character. Just about every other girl has one purpose but Momo is a bit more layered. Her confliction between the harem plan and wanting Rito for herself is what drew me to her, it's a struggle I haven't seen in another harem. That and she constantly tries to better herself, she was extra baggage at first but since Darkness she's been trying to improve her waifu skills for Rito, something the other girls don't do.
