It doesn't look that good visually and the fact that the manga is on going pretty much dooms it since it would either invent an ending or, most likely, end after the second eclipse and Girffith's return or something leaving it unfinished forever.
At the very least there won't be fillers because i don't think they would be mad enough to "wait for Miura" so there is that and the fact that most other anime are shit right now so Berserk wins just by adapting itself over pretty much anything right now.
So yeah, i'm game, i'll watch it.

It starts with the skeleton warriors, the priest and his daughter. Include things like the tree, then skip right to meeting Farness. Which means it would skip a lot of Lost Children, and The Count storylines, which are some of my favorites.
God damn. I can just picture an ultra violent 45 minute well animated OVA from 88 covering The Count storyline and it would ahve been GLORIOUS.

I remember watching the first adaptation as an average viewer and thinking, "This show sure does stand out," but of course, I never imagined back then that I would one day get an offer to direct an anime for the series.
When I read through the manga this time, it hit me just how rich a work Berserk is, and how much depth it has as a human drama.
I believe it's a work that should prove fascinating to one and all, especially in how it accepts the darkness within people and uses that to form the framework of the story.
Making an anime adaptation which would recreate the manga's depth along with its detailed and graphic art would normally be considered reckless, but we're facing up to the challenge with the latest in animation technology and techniques.
