This is the very definition of 'edgy for its own sake'. Seriously, and without going on about the shitty ending, characters, 'lol german bcuz its so kewl', bad animation, and shit adaptation in general. The story is legitimately shallow, boring, and full of asspull (that fight agains the sisters or whatever they were called). Only good thing was the opening.

It is good. I felt lady boss's storyline was too contrived and obviously cutted down from the original VN. Also the yakuza princess girl is too shallow and irrelevant yet she tried to established herself as a legitimate love interest. Bleh. The ending was shit but I understand it was a logical conclusion of the MC's decision, i also don't like the inferno boss guy too, he was flat and boring invinsible bishonen villain despite being the most important driving force of the whole story.
Last but not least I felt mad MC effectively abandon Drei and years later decide to kill her for Ein's sake.

I liked it until the ending. It's been awhile since i've seen it, but I like how zwei became a pretty good phantom and he was mostly on his own at one point without the girl until she almost killed him again and he saved her and went to japan to live alife with her. At that point when they went to school and he had to kill the third phantom was when the story got ehh to me. I love pistol animes as they are my favorite, but Phantom of the Req is my least. I woulda liked it if the first phantom had more personality instead of being a puppet, but thats what it is being a hired gun with a lot of talent I guess.
I give it like 7/10.
