People talk about animation quite a lot if you lurk enough to find it. Yes, if you compare it to the rest of the board's interest it will seem quite insignificant in comparison but that's to be expected. Most people don't know much about animation and they shouldn't be expected to. Also the board isn't for animation. It's for anime, which also includes many other key components(like storytelling, character design, voice acting etc) and don't even try to create a stupid linguistics argument here.
Expecting the majority of the discussion to revolve around animation itself is being utterly delusional.
