Tate no Yuusha was kind of edgy at times, especially around the start when everyone was shitting on him. However it sort of shifts in tone quite a bit and tends to hover around comedy for a while. It also has this point in the WN when it has this huge snap back around the time when the Queen is introduced.
Honestly, Tate no Yuusha is pretty damn trashy, but once you stop taking it seriously it gets sort of fun. Comfy for a while too when the MC is just developing his territory.
I've not read Nidome, so I couldn't compare, but TnY was never really 'good', people just managed to find bits they liked about it.

I'm getting a kick out of Summoned Slaughter but probably not for the same reason the author might get a kick out of writing it. From the first chapter when the MC killed the god of death I knew it was going to be stupid, but there is something fun about a 'woops, this summoned hero is fucking crazy' as a plot premise. I mostly follow it for Princess Immeria who is just trying to do her best in a horrible situation. I just can't hate Summoned Slaughter no matter how edge lord it tries to be.

And in another arc he:Gets his revenge on the magician by destroying her life's works, her family's reputation. Having her own servants disowned her then killed them in front of her, And finally inflates her lesbian lover til she popped like a balloon. All made worse by the fact that he let the magician go so she could try saving her.

Left just got it's first volume released just last week.. And I know how you feel. To many times am I turned off from reading anything in english when the translation is just horrible. Even when it sounds correct, it still sounds like something no one would actually say in that way.
