Hanekawa is always going out and doing interesting supernatural things that are relevant to Araragi's story though. Plus, we needed to get a look at what she's like after finishing her story, just like how it was important to see Senjougahara in Neko White. Kanbaru was absolutely critical during Owari 2 because she was able to empathize with Seishirou. However, Senjougahara has a lot of other parts that seem to be just for the sake of putting her on screen for a few minutes because she hasn't gotten to do anything lately, like in Tsuki.

I'm an Hitagi hater and honestly, her personality is disgusting. I'm all for strong and confident women but I only like it when it's actually genuine. Hitagi acts like she's hot shit when she's really not. She's the one that needs the most help out of all the girls and she acts like she has everything under control. To answer your question:
She's a downright bitch. She is cold and snarky but not even in an endearing way. I was hoping for her to "grow on me" but even after watching all the series I still hate her. Not to mention her relationship with Arararagi feels extremely forced and abrupt from Bake onwards. She's not as bad compared to Shinobu though, but I can give credit to both of them for their designs. That being said, I simply hate both of them and it sucks to constantly see them soaking up the screen time.

Her appearances in Owari 1 and 2 were basically useless. I'm not going to completely pass judgement before reading/watching it, but Hitagi Rendezvous sounds pretty gratuitous as well.
Maybe they're not bad, but they're definitely getting put in as fanservice in response to her popularity.

Cat is level headed and mature. Bee and Bird are good siblings and their relationship with male Bat is heart warming. Snail is cute and conceals some intelligence and awareness. Snake is very cute but the crazy side of her affected my opinion. Monkey is strong and a tomboy but has a feminine side and talks equally with Araragi without being an arrogant bitch. Doll's hat > Doll. Don't like Bat or Crab at all, they're both feisty and arrogant, and Crab is straight up autistic. Yozuru and Kanbaru are strong female characters but are actually reasonable.

The point was that Nisio could have her in more important roles if he wrote the story to give focus on who the readers wanted to see the most.
Owari 1 could have had her interacting more with Sodachi, when it's related to Araragi's past and they were already acquaintances. They even interacted later off-screen. Although of course, as the story was actually written until there Cat was needed for her relationship with Ougi and because she could actualy empathize with Sodachi.
