Why is Ram is cute and princess carry-able?

Like Ram said, if the village was fucked up or the kids died, it would have reflected poorly on their lord.
Add in the fact that he risked his life in a situation where a Witch Cult dude really wouldn't have and she is more willing to trust him.
She starts to see the admirable traits he was during the rescue mission and when he does exhibit self sacrifice for her sake it may have unlocked feelings of gratitude.
This led to her going out into the forest to save him and fall into oni-rage. Going after her and snapping out of her oni-rage (something that is a sensitive subject for both her and ram) deepens those feelings she had which led to a crush that she nurtures later on in the story into full blown love.
